The L-Drink is made of purified water, vegetable glycerin, natural flavors, citric acid, and potassium sorbate (to protect freshness). The glycerol is sweet, but we are not using it to sweeten the beverage. Glycerol is not typically absorbed when you’re in a “fed” state – it’s filtered out by the kidneys. When you’re in a fasting state, however, glycerol can be converted into glucose by the body to produce energy in a way that doesn’t appear to trigger the nutrient-sensing pathways, and can thus be used to help protect your lean body mass while keeping you in a fasting state. You will use the amount of L-drink associated with your weight and mix it in with water in the large water bottle (32 oz) that we provide. The weight on the l-drink is marked from top to bottom, not from bottom to top, meaning the more you weigh the more l-drink you will have to pour.
Glycerol also makes an excellent hydration agent, which is why the World Health Organization (WHO) uses it for one of their oral rehydration therapy recipes.
The glycerol used in the L-Drink is derived from the palm plant. It is a natural substance.
